Mentorship and Clinical Experience
Before becoming a certified doula, I was fortunate to be mentored by Stephanie Alouche and Andrea Paul and to participate in the Hospital Birth Doula Program. This experience allowed me to build both my knowledge and practical skills while supporting families in a hospital setting under the guidance of experienced doulas.
I am also a mentee of Charmaine Hinds. Through her mentorship, classes, and guidance at The Giving Tree Services, I continue to expand my knowledge and deepen my understanding of birth and postpartum care.
Since becoming certified, I have had the privilege of supporting many families throughout Toronto and the GTA through a wide range of birth and postpartum experiences. My experience includes both hospital and home births, supporting families with different goals, preferences, and birth circumstances. I have also provided postpartum support to families with a variety of needs, including first-time parents, experienced parents, and families welcoming twins. Each family's journey is unique, and these experiences continue to deepen my knowledge, adaptability, and commitment to providing compassionate, individualized care.
In addition to my professional training, my multicultural background and fluency in English, Hebrew, and Hungarian allow me to support families from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. I understand that language, traditions, and family values can play an important role in the birth and postpartum experience, and I strive to provide care that is respectful of each family's unique needs and preferences.
Professional Affiliations
I am proud to be a member of the Association of Ontario Doulas (AOD) and the Collaborative Doula Collective, as well as an approved Carrot Provider.
Being part of these professional communities allows me to stay connected with fellow birth and postpartum professionals, engage in ongoing learning, and provide families with compassionate, evidence-informed support rooted in collaboration and community.
These affiliations reflect my commitment to professional standards, continuing education, and providing high-quality care to growing families.

Academic Background
I hold a B.A. in History and a Master's degree in Egyptology. My passion for understanding how people have cared for mothers and babies throughout history continues today.
Through my blog, I hope to share practical birth and postpartum resources for families alongside historical perspectives on childbirth, parenting, and maternal care in Ancient Egypt and other early cultures. By exploring both modern evidence-based knowledge and lessons from the past, I hope to offer families thoughtful insights, useful information, and a deeper appreciation for the many ways communities have supported parents and babies throughout history.
The Cradle & Care logo is a tribute to my background in Egyptology. It is inspired by the Ancient Egyptian lotus flower, a symbol with many meanings that resonate with birth work, including fertility, love, birth, rebirth, and renewal. The logo was beautifully designed by my sister, Shari Florian.
