ABOUT: Cradle and Care by Neomi

Meet the doula: Neomi Bori Gruntman

Birth and postpartum doula services offering compassionate, evidence-based labor support, postpartum recovery care, infant care, and lactation guidance.
Becoming a mother shortly after moving to a new continent taught me the importance of a strong support network. During the years I spent nurturing my own children and being part of a reciprocal support network, I realized that I wish to guide families through their most meaningful transitions with empathy and practical knowledge.
My background in academic research equips me to diligently seek out and share comprehensive, evidence-based information, empowering you to make informed decisions for your birth and postpartum journey.
As a Birth Doula, I am honored to provide emotional and physical support throughout your labor and birth. I use various comfort measures, such as positioning, meditation, massage, and the Mexican Rebozo.
As a Postpartum Doula, my focus shifts to prioritizing your recovery, emotional well-being, and infant care. I offer customized support, tailoring my service to your family’s needs on any given day. I provide lactation coaching, informed by my extensive experience and ongoing training.
I am fluent in English, Hebrew, and Hungarian, and I bring a cross-cultural perspective gained from living in multiple countries and communities.
Outside of Birthwork, I enjoy spending time hiking in nature with my family, reading, yoga, exploring Toronto museums and cafes with my husband and friends, and having crafting nights with my girlfriends.

This is my family in 2011 - all my kids are teens now, the boys way taller than my husband, the newborn is taller than me.
The way I placed my daughter in the wrap for this picture is off - I will write a blog post on how to do it properly.

Other Education

I hold a B.A. in History and a Master’s degree in Egyptology. I continue to have a deep interest in ancient cultures and occasionally share insights on birth and child-rearing practices in Ancient Egypt and other early societies on my blog.
Cradle and Care by Neomi's Logo is a tribute to my Egyptological side. It is inspired by the Ancient Egyptian representation on the Lotus flower. The Lotus flower has multiple meanings in the Ancient Egyptian culture, and they are fitting for birth work. Among the meanings are sexuality, love and birth.
My artist sister, Shari Florian designed the logo for me.
